The J’s Hospice is holding its annual winter ball and charity auction this month - with a top prize of an 18 hole round of golf for three people with Sir Steve Redgrave, winner of five Olympic gold medals for rowing.
The charity is so delighted to be given this amazing prize that it is opening the bidding to the general public ahead of the ball so no-one misses the opportunity to win it and meet Sir Steve.
Jo Colbert, Head of Fundraising at The J’s explained: 'We are very grateful to Sir Steve for supporting The J’s with such a special auction prize. We know from speaking to golfers and sports fans who cannot get to our ball that they really don’t want to miss out - so we are inviting them to make a bid now which we will include in the auction on the night.'
The golf experience will be hosted at Sir Steve’s Buckinghamshire golf club. Bids have to be submitted by midday on 20th November to be entered into the auction.
The ‘Great Gatsby Ball’ has a 1920s theme and is being held at the stunning Orsett Hall on Saturday 21st November. The charity hopes to raise £20,000 for The J’s Hospice which supports young adults with life-limiting conditions and their families across Essex.
