Make a big difference

Make a Big Difference to a Small Charity in 2015 by volunteering for The J's.

People volunteer for a range of reasons and from a variety of backgrounds. Perhaps you’ve just left college or university and need some ‘hands-on’ experience before entering the job market? Maybe you’ve come to the end of your professional working life and would just like to make a contribution to the community one or two days per week? Many mums also volunteer for some time to boost their working knowledge after taking a career break.

People of all ages in Essex are invited to become an integral part of The J’s Hospice team. The J’s is a small charity based in Great Baddow, Chelmsford, that has made some big splashes in 2014 by hosting the first Chelmsford Marathon, alongside the annual Pedal for The J’s event and a large number of smaller community events and fundraisers.

All of these efforts are geared towards raising money to fund young adult’s medical, respite and social care. Young adults with life limiting illnesses in Essex can become socially isolated and are not suited to an ‘older’ hospice environment – The J’s embraces their unique requirements and endeavours to offer care tailored to their needs, in the comfort of their own home.

Volunteers can support some of the charity’s high-profile events, offer back-office administration or become an integral part of the online communications team. Whatever their skill set or experience, volunteers can benefit from experienced marketing, finance, administration and fundraising professionals who would be delighted to welcome new faces into the team.

If you have just a few hours or a day or two per week that you can contribute to a truly amazing cause, please do call the offices today for more information; 01245 475474, ext 3121.

Could this be your New Year resolution? A small contribution of your time and skills can make a huge difference to a small charity.
