Thank you for coming to our fete!
Animal encounters, face painters and acrobatics entertained thousands of local hospice and rugby club supporters at the St Helena Hospice Fete and Community Fun day on Sunday 30th April.
The annual event, held in partnership with Colchester Rugby Football Club included sporting and family-friendly activities to raise funds for St Helena Hospice.
This year visitors were treated to acrobatic displays by Team Kinetix and choral performances by the Hope in Harmony choir. There were animal encounters with Feathers and Fangs as well as short ponies for children to meet - a varied show which appealed to everyone!
Meanwhile hospice CEO Mark Jarman-Howe and local MP Will Quince kindly offered to spend the day in wooden stocks where wet sponges were thrown at them for a donation to the hospice!
Sports fans watched live rugby matches, supporters indulged in delicious food from various stalls and vendors and children enjoyed fair group rides, and bungee trampolines.
Wendy Marcon, Event and Challenges Manager commented “What a fantastic day we had with the local community! It was amazing to see thousands of people who had come out to support us. A big thank you to Cllr Gerard Oxford who officially opened the fete in the morning, and Will Quince who also came along to support our fundraising. Many thanks to all the traders and the public for joining us again this year for another successful day. It’s a pleasure to work in partnership with Colchester Rugby Club and we look forward to doing it all again next year.”
