KFC raises £95K for Noah’s Ark

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is celebrating after getting a takeaway worth £95,638 raised from KFC’s 144 outlets across London.

KFC’s Add Hope Foundation raised the amount by asking staff to promote collection boxes, special meal deals, with a percentage donated to charity, scratchcard sales and donations.

Noah’s Ark’s Director of Income Generation and Communications, Alison Goodman, praised Kentucky Fried Chicken’s London-wide staff, who pulled out all the stops to help. “It is great when a big brand like KFC supports us. As a household name, and a familiar sight on every High Street, it is heart-warming to hear that KFC has joined the Noah’s Ark family and put all this effort in to help our vulnerable children and their families.”

“Families find it hard to cope, with both the physical strain of caring for children who are seriously ill, and also with all the extreme emotions it stirs up for them. Noah’s Ark aims to be there every step of the way to offer help, advice, play and music therapy, sibling and parental support. This KFC gift will make a huge difference and help us reach more families who need us.”

KFC Area Coach, Shane Field said: “The amount raised by the team has been amazing, we are so proud to be able to help the work of a charity doing such vital work helping families. The KFC Add Hope Foundation gives staff the chance to really get involved in some great work in their community.”

To kick-start the fundraising effort, KFC employees were asked to vote on which charity, near their restaurant, they’d like to support. Noah’s Ark was one of two nominated charities in London. Funds raised have now been split between Noah’s Ark and The Childhood Trust.
