Tough Mudders prove they've got what it takes

Eleven fundraisers put their grit and mettle to the test as they ran, climbed and crawled their way through mud, ice and rushing water.

The team of professional personal trainers from Unique U - Personal Fitness Coaching took on the gruelling Tough Mudder challenge in aid of John Taylor Hospice.

They successfully completed the 12-mile-long obstacle course - putting their mental and physical strength to the test to raise an impressive £800 to support local families. "We've raised £800 so far through our JustGiving page but hope to reach £1,000," said team member CJ.

"It was a very long and challenging day which took teamwork, determination and mental strength to all ensure we crossed the finish line together. The most challenging obstacle was the Augustus Gloop as you first have to sink underneath muddy water, then climb up a tube in Spider-Man style whilst having water jets sprayed at you! It was a fantastic day and we've raised money for a great cause."

John Taylor's Corporate Fundraising Manager Natalie Mayo said: "Congratulations to team members CJ, Dan, Jag, Laura, Josh, Roopi, Andy, Arjun, Mitchell, Rob and Jack. We're very proud of you all and extremely grateful for your support. It costs £15,000 every day to provide our services so we feel very lucky to have the support of fantastic fundraisers like yourselves."

Tough Mudder can be more than just a personal challenge. By asking for sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues you can also raise vital funds for a cause close to your heart.
