Super sports day where everyone’s a winner
The 2017 Noah’s Ark Sports Day was the perfect late summer treat for 24 families who joined Tottenham Hotspur star Ledley King for some sporty fun at Haverstock School, Chalk Farm.
The morning was packed with children’s activities. These included fencing, football, golf, sensory activities and table tennis, all with the emphasis on accessibility; giving everyone, regardless of mobility the chance to have a go.
Noah’s Ark staff and volunteers, charity partner Spurs and a range of local groups, were on hand to make sure everything went smoothly.
The afternoon saw family pitched against family for some golf-themed relay races. To round off the day Ledley handed out individual winner medals to every child taking part.
Agnieszka, mum to Borys and Wiktor (all pictured with Ledley) said: “We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Wiktor absolutely loves relays and for me, to see how he laughed, was heart-melting. Borys, who’s never keen to do any kind of sport was participating in each of them. His favourite one was fencing. And of course Spurs, what a surprise. Noah’s Ark you smashed it again leaving smiles on everyone’s faces!”
Ledley said: “It’s inspiring to speak to these families and hear about all the amazing work Noah’s Ark do to help them. These events are so important as they give everyone a chance to spend some quality time together and create lasting memories, so it’s fantastic we can support such a worthy cause.”
The day is part of Noah’s Ark’s programme of year-round family activities which range from cooking to drama and days out to dance.
