Thank you and farewell to Ray Wilson
After a long and distinguished career at St Helena Hospice, Ray Wilson, Director of Patient and Family Services, has left to pursue a new career.
Colleagues past and present gathered at the Education Centre, Myland Hall to thank her for all she has done and wish her well for the future.
Over the last 22 years Ray has been a great advocate for excellent, personalised and holistic care for hospice patients and families, and has supported the development of many clinical colleagues.
She will be missed at the hospice and everyone of course wishes her all the best for the future. A replacement has been appointed and will start next month.
Mark Jarman-Howe, CEO says: "Ray started as a Nurse on our Inpatient Unit, then worked as a Community Nurse Specialist while training as a counsellor, she then became Director of Community Services in 2013. Throughout her time with us she has been fully committed to meeting the needs and wishes of the many patients and families she has either worked with personally or through our excellent clinical teams. In the last few years she has been the driving force behind our award winning SinglePoint service and her leadership and passion was key to the hospice achieving an outstanding rating in our recent CQC inspection. We are all grateful for her wonderful contribution and will miss her experience, humour and kindness."
