Up the Downs Report
‘Up the Downs’ 2017 had an amazing turnout this year with over 100 people flocking to the downs to raise vital funds for Salisbury Hospice Charity.
The walkers experienced the wonderful views from the top of the Odstock Downs and walked through the Longford Estate past the spectacular Longford Castle.
With a choice of either 20, 13 or 7 miles, walkers were wowed from start to finish by spectacular scenery fuelling their way to the finish line. At the hospice our lovely volunteers welcomed walkers back with delicious cakes and hot tea, kindly donated by The Oven Door Bakery and Haydens Bakery.
Salisbury Hospice Charity are delighted to announce that the event was an outstanding success and has already raised an incredible £5,000 for Salisbury Hospice and the total is growing fast!
The Hospice would like to say a massive thank you to Longford Estate for allowing them access to their amazing grounds as well as our staff and volunteers for helping pull off what hopefully will be a record breaking fundraising event. Last but not least thank you so much to all the walkers for taking part and raising money for the hospice.
“We were delighted to see over 100 walkers for the 20th anniversary of Up the Downs, this being a record number for the event. We are well on the way to achieving our target of £8K which will produce much needed funds for the Hospice.” Francesca Vale, Events Fundraising Intern
