A new hospice

A special open door event in support of the new hospice build project, welcomed the Arthur Rank Hospice team and many of its supporters.

Over 60 guests enjoyed a spot of lunch, a glass of wine or a cup of tea at Quy Mill Hotel & Spa in March as they perused the final plans for the new hospice and viewed the phenomenal walkthrough video, which is available on Arthur Rank Hospice Charity website. The walkthrough enables viewers to take a look around the internal and external areas of the hospice and really appreciate the scale and innovative design which enables the facility to be light and airy yet welcoming and personal.

Donations received on the day achieved approximately £3,700 and Lynn Morgan, CEO for the charity, said: "It has been a wonderful day. We have enjoyed having time to talk through the project, share memories with those who have been touched by our care and also celebrate how this fantastic building will become a special for those in years to come. Our passion in this project is evident but it is great to see our supporters on board for this exciting journey."

The team, which included Louise Knights, the architect from LSI; Jennie Flory, Capital Appeal Director; Mary Phenna, the grants and trusts officer; and Donna Talbot, Director of Fundraising & Communications for the charity, were present from 10am-8pm and found a continual stream of visitors and interested parties arrive to find out more. The High Sheriff even popped in to show her support.
