A new hospice
A special open door event in support of the new hospice build
project, welcomed the Arthur Rank Hospice team and many of its
Over 60 guests enjoyed a spot of lunch, a glass of
wine or a cup of tea at Quy Mill Hotel & Spa in March as they
perused the final plans for the new hospice and viewed the phenomenal
walkthrough video, which is available on Arthur Rank Hospice Charity website.
The walkthrough enables viewers to take a look around the internal and
external areas of the hospice and really appreciate the scale and
innovative design which enables the facility to be light and airy yet
welcoming and personal.
Donations received on the day achieved
approximately £3,700 and Lynn Morgan, CEO for the charity, said: "It has
been a wonderful day. We have enjoyed having time to talk through the
project, share memories with those who have been touched by our care and
also celebrate how this fantastic building will become a special for
those in years to come. Our passion in this project is evident but it is
great to see our supporters on board for this exciting journey."
team, which included Louise Knights, the architect from LSI; Jennie
Flory, Capital Appeal Director; Mary Phenna, the grants and trusts
officer; and Donna Talbot, Director of Fundraising & Communications
for the charity, were present from 10am-8pm and found a continual stream
of visitors and interested parties arrive to find out more. The High
Sheriff even popped in to show her support.
