  • Your Hospice Lottery is wholly owned by St Helena Hospice in Colchester and we work with other hospices and charities to raise funds to support people in need of hospice services.

  • Please click here to find all the hospices who we support with our lottery. Members of Your Hospice Lottery choose which hospice they wish to support with their membership when they join. By hospices working together in this way, overhead and costs of running a lottery can be kept to a minimum so more funds can go towards hospice care.

  • All our representatives will have official identification on them – please ask to see this and ask any questions you may have. You can also contact the Your Hospice Lottery office on 0800 285 1390 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
  • From your very first entry into our weekly prize draw you will be making a difference to people with life limiting conditions and their loved ones. Please view where your money goes for information
  • Your membership goes towards the hospice you choose when you set up your membership

    Lottery Income that went towards charitable causes – £2,486,021 – 68.6%
    Lottery income that went on expenses –  £965,940 – 26.4%
    Lottery income that went on prizes – £169,000 – 4.6%
  • Entry into the draw costs £1 per play per week. To play the lottery, payment must be received in advance. Once you are set up, you will be issued with a 6 digit unique lottery number that will remain yours for the duration of your membership. This is will be emailed or posted to you. If you ever need a reminder of your numbers please contact us.
  • Players entering the draw must be 18 or over, Your Hospice Lottery reserves the right to ask for proof of age of any player and claimant of a prize.


  • Players must be a resident of Great Britain


  • We encourage responsible gambling, therefore the number of weekly lottery entries is limited to five. If you do wish to purchase more, please do contact us where we can go through the necessary responsible gambling checks.
  • There are 187 guaranteed weekly cash prizes (1 x £1000, 1 x £250, and 185 x £10) plus 1 rollover prize of £500. If the rollover isn’t won, it goes up by £500 each week to a maximum of £25,000 where it must be won. The rollover is set at a 5% chance of being won each week and the system decides if it is to be won. If by the time it reaches it’s maximum it isn’t won, the chance of winning is then set at 100%.

  • Chances of winning – In total, in the last financial year (April 2020- March 2021) there were an average 69,634 weekly plays across our hospice partners, with 9,152 prizes being given away over the year, totalling £169,000.
  • It costs £4.34 a month per number, however the initial first payment is uplifted by £1 to ensure that you do have enough credit to enter every draw, especially in 5 week months.
  • Winners are picked at random by a RGN (Random Number Generator) in our lottery software. The RGN has been independently tested by a Gambling Commission approved test house who are fully licensed by the Gambling Commission.
  • Our Results tab has the latest information and posters are displayed at hospice locations. But, if you are a regular member you don’t need to remember to check your number(s) as we will send out prize cheques to winning members soon after each weekly draw takes place. Please contact us if you change address

  • However, if you purchased your ticket in a retail shop– you will need to check your number for the draw week as displayed on your ticket, to claim your prize. More details on our CLAIMS PROCEDURE and T’s & C’s.
  • No not at all, however being able to promote our winners and the prizes won really does help us to keep people engaged and playing the lottery for longer, so we really so appreciate it when a winner or player comes forward to share their story.

  • Your payment will be processed as soon as possible and then you will be entered into the next available draw; this can take up to two weeks and if you are paying by Direct Debit.

  • If you have signed up for direct debit payment we will write to you to notify you when your first payment will be taken. Payment will continue to be paid from your bank account on your behalf until you notify us differently.

  • We will post or email your Welcome Pack and unique six digit lottery membership number to you within ten working days.

  • If you pay by cheque, debit card or cash, we will contact you when this is due for renewal. You can also renew online.

  • We always strive to stay green and make contact via email or phone as much as possible, to ensure we have your contact details please contact us.
  • Sorry, it’s no longer possible to buy a single ticket. Apologies for this but it’s out of our control.
  • Yes, it’s a really fun thing to do with friends, colleagues and family. Please contact us for more information.
  • If you are thinking of cancelling we will be sorry to see you go. Simply fill in our contact form or give us a call.


  • If you pay by regular Direct Debit, all credit will be used as entries into the draw until the amount becomes zero. If you have less than £1 left (and not enough to enter the draw), after 10 weeks this will be treated as a general donation to the hospice you were playing in support of).
  • Please do contact us if you have any cause for complaint and we will help in any way to resolve this quickly. All complaints and disputes will be dealt with in accordance with our complaints policy, a copy of which is available at the Lottery Office. In the event a complaint or dispute cannot be resolved, it will be referred to arbitration. As we are a member of the Hospice Lotteries Association, and Lotteries Council, complaints will be referred to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
