East Coast Hospice

East Coast Hospice

The charity was established in 2008 as Yare Hospice Care, becoming East Coast Hospice in 2009, with the aim of improving end of life care in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area; with a vision and goal to build an independent hospice.

Planning permission was received in 2012, fundraising took off in 2013 and now all pre-build works have been completed and paid for. They have planning in perpetuity and are ‘spade-to-soil’ ready. They are now raising the funds to get the diggers on site to build the hospice.

They have a chain of charity shops and an eBay store raising funds for the build, alongside fundraising, events, and collecting pots supported by businesses and the community.

Donations and pledges can be made to the building of the hospice or designated to help fund the specialist equipment that will be required to kit out the hospice once it has been built.

From your very first game, you will help East Coast Hospice raise vital funds that will support people in need in the local community. Below are some key figures:

  • £4 million has been raised since 2013, used to pay for all pre-build works and to get the charity to where it is now, spade-to-soil ready.
  • £300,000 is the cost of archaeological digs!
  • £2.5 million is the amount needed to raise to get the diggers on site and start the build.
  • £5.2 million is the build cost.
