Staff and volunteers at St Helena Hospice celebrated 15 years of fundraising lottery, which has raised more than £5.7 million for the hospice since its first draw on 8th June 2001.
Alex Howe, Head of Lottery at St Helena Hospice, said: “Our sincere thanks goes to our all our loyal players who have contributed to the lottery over the last 15 years; they have made a massive difference to people with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones.
“It’s such an easy way to raise money and, of course, there is a chance to win too! You may not become a millionaire by playing Your Hospice Lottery, but hospice care always wins!”
The draw is usually run each Friday and there is a chance to win one of 111 prizes from £10 to £1,000 or the rollover prize which if not won goes up by £250 each week up to £10,000. In the draw on Friday 17th June lottery members have a chance to win a fantastic rollover jackpot of £7,500.
Your Hospice Lottery is owned and run by St Helena Hospice and also raises money for seven other hospices across the country. At the time of joining, players choose which hospice to support with their entry and St Helena Hospice also receives a small income from these additional memberships for administering the lottery.
Overall Your Hospice Lottery has raised a total of £6.4 million for hospice care.
