Cast your mind back to five weeks ago, you were able to go wherever you wanted with whoever you wanted. With the pandemic introducing itself with aggressive force, freedom as we know it has become a distant memory. However, during this time when most businesses have sent their staff to work from home, local hospices are still open to provide essential care to their patients and many have cancelled foreseeable fundraising events.
Local hospices only receive a fraction of their annual funding from the NHS and heavily rely on fundraising and donations. The question poses, ‘how can I still support local hospices during these troublesome times?’. The team at Your Hospice Lottery have come up with three ways you can still help.
If you visit any local hospice website, it’s highly likely that they will be urgently appealing for you to directly donate any amount. Your money is then received by the hospice and enables them to continue providing many of their fantastic free services and support to hundreds of families.
Join in virtual fundraising events
You’ll most likely find that you have free time now more than ever so you can finally clean the kitchen cupboards or learn the instrument you always wanted. However, you may also find yourself twiddling your thumbs wondering what to do. A lot of local hospices have recently created virtual fundraising events, such as viral challenges and quizzes. Not only will you be donating to a great cause, you’ll also be keeping the family endlessly entertained!
