Volunteers and staff from KEMP’s Retail team once again took part in the Severn Valley Railway’s annual 40’s event and raised a staggering £9,000 for KEMP Hospice. Head of Retail, Lynne Jones, said: “This was the 4th year we have manned stalls at Bewdley station for the annual 1940’s event and thanks to our wonderful regular customers, who come back to see us year after year, we’ve built an amazing number of 1940’s fashion-seeker followers!”
As with most community services, KEMP now receives less government funding to support the vital services they provide, even though demand from the local community continues to increase. KEMP Hospice needs to raise over £940,000 annually to continue to support local people, with the majority of their funding raised through voluntary donations and the support of Face.
KEMP Donations Centre Manager, Lilian Griffiths, added: “We can’t thank our volunteers enough for all the help they have given to us in setting up and running this event. The volunteers and staff from the Severn Valley Railway are hugely and we look forward every year to getting dressed up and joining in with the 1940’s theme, it’s great fun!”
