Registration is now open for the hugely popular St Helena Hospice Pier to Pier free sponsored walk which takes place on Sunday 2nd April 2017, starting at Clacton or Walton Pier!
The event is now in its seventh year and saw over one thousand supporters take to the coast last year to walk the 7 or 14 miles in support of the hospice.
A phenomenal £76,000 was raised for the hospice and hope to beat that target this year!
Supporters can register alone or in groups, and we’re encouraging friends, families, work colleagues, dog walkers, fitness and weight loss groups to register. Many participants walk in memory of a loved one who was cared for by the hospice, and see the walk as a great opportunity to reflect on good times had whilst soaking up the beautiful coastal scenery!
For regular dog walkers, the pier to pier route can offer a change of scenery for the usual Sunday dog walk! Dogs are welcome as long as they are on leads.
Registration for the event is free but participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £30 sponsorship. St Helena Hospice provide their core services for free, but it does come at a cost of over £8.7 million a year. Sponsorship from the walk will enable them to continue providing their services and support local people at one of the most difficult time in their lives.
Online registration closes on Friday 31st March at 12pm.
