During his year in office as Master of Whytewell Lodge Philip Longstaff held two main events to raise money for Cynthia Spencer Hospice and their sister Hospice, Cransley in Kettering. These were a musical evening with “Dr Busker” and a BBQ at the Irchester home of member Keith Baines.
Both these events were very well supported by members of various local Lodges as well as family and friends. In total £2,000 was raised for the Hospices. This amount has been enhanced by the Provincial Grand Charity of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire, a charity supported by all Masons in the two counties, with each Hospice receiving a cheque for £1,500.
John Helm, Fundraising Manager said “Our thanks go out to Philip and everyone at the Whytewell Lodge, as well as the Provincial Grand Charity for their wonderful support of the Hospice. Masonic groups throughout the Province constantly do great work to support their local community and especially our Hospice and we very much appreciate the support we receive from them all.”
