A lucky supporter of Cynthia Spencer Hospice became the winner of £1,000 in Your Hospice Lottery’s fundraising lottery draw in November.
John Deacon from Northamptonshire was delighted to find out he had won the top prize. He said:
‘My wife thought I was joking as we’ve never won anything over £90 before! We’ve already booked a three-weak break in Fuerteventura. We’ve never had a winter holiday abroad before so decided to treat ourselves with our win.
‘We have friends who have had family in the Hospice. It’s nice to know that playing the lottery is helping people locally.’
Cynthia Spencer Hospice teamed up with Your Hospice Lottery in March this year to offer people the chance to help raise vital funds towards patient care. It is hoped the lottery will raise in excess of £500,000 for the Hospice over the next five years. Although the Hospice is mainly funded by the NHS, an extra £704,000 needs to be raised annually to help the hospice to continue to provide the excellent standard of care and services that patients and their loved ones expect from Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
