Weldmar Hospicecare is an independent charity that provide vital end of life care to those who need it most. They provide care in the comfort of patients’ own homes with Weldmar Community Nurses, via their Day Services held across the county and as inpatients at their Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
All Weldmar’s care is provided completely free of charge but as a charity they need to raise over £18,000 every single day to keep these services available for those who need them in the future.
Weldmar believes in putting their patients at the centre of everything they do ensuring that their care is tailored and individual to them. They ensure patients are as comfortable as possible and that their loved ones receive the support that they require, at what is a difficult time.
With the support of their lottery players, they can continue funding this care throughout Dorset and thanks to you, they are able to keep adding life to patients’ last days.

- Last year, Weldmar cared for over 2,500 patients and their loved ones throughout Dorset.
- It costs £353 for a patient at their inpatient unit to receive care for 24 hours.

From your very first game, you will help Weldmar Hospicecare raise vital funds that will support people in need in the local community. Some examples of what your contribution could pay for are:
could fund one hour of one-to-one counselling for a loved one.
could pay for a two hour art therapy session for a patient or carer.
could cover half a day of all costs to provide a Weldmar Community Nurse.
How to play
Each entry to the draw costs £1. Our draws are run every week of the year, usually on a Friday. You can either set up a membership to provide your chosen charity with a regular and reliable income, every week of the year, or you can play as and when you want to, whatever suits you best!
